The New Runners Club of Leon will be represented this weekend in the Spain U16 Championship, which will be held in La Nucía (Alicante) on June 6-7, 2026, with the presence of three young Leonese athletes. Gabriela Barack Essengue Velasco will take the start in the 600 meters flat, where she will try to improve her records in one of the most demanding distances in the middle distance of the category. Amelia Criado Llamas will compete in the 100 meters hurdles, a specialty of speed and technique in which she arrives after signing outstanding performances at the regional level. Aniel Aragón Domínguez will complete the club's representation, facing the demanding hexathlon, a combined test that puts the versatility and competitive ability of athletes to the test in different disciplines of races, jumps and throws. The participation of these three athletes represents an important showcase for the New Runners Club and for Leonese athletics, which will once again be present in a top-level national meeting alongside the best promises of the country in the U16 category, in which almost 800 athletes from all over the country will participate. The live results of the Spain U16 Championship in La Nucía can be followed on the Teledeporte website on RTVE Play and also on the page of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), in the championship's file, where the link 'Live Results' appears to follow the competitions live of the meeting in La Nucía.
